Milagres Educational Institution was founded by Bishop Rt Rev. Bernardin in 1848. In the beginning, it was started as a Primary English School with classes I to V and higher classes were added gradually. The Higher Secondary school was started on July 23, 1929. The Government of Karnataka upgraded the High School into Pre-University College on July 5, 1982.
With the aim of imparting higher education, the Management initiated and incepted Milagres Degree College in 2010 run by the Catholic Board of Education of the Diocese of Mangaluru and locally managed by Milagres Church.

With a view to ensure quick dissemination of information and communication, the College has the facility of sending messages through SMS and App Services.
The College provides boarding and lodging facilities for the students from distant locations and for those who need accommodation in the College hostels.
The College has a full-fledged spacious library with a stack of more than 7700 books and a reading room with E-Library and INFLIBNET facility.
The College pays special attention to the mental and spiritual wellbeing of our students. A full-time qualified counsellor is on roll to look after the mental and psychological health of the students.
The well equipped laboratories of the departments of Hospitality Science and Food, Nutrition and Dietetics serve as effective incubation centres of the College.
Parent Teacher Association is a great source of strength to the College in improving the quality of discipline and students’ development.

My journey at Milagres College has been one of the most memorable chapters of my life. As the Media Secretary for 2024–25, I had the opportunity to explore my passion for photography and media while participating in numerous college events. Capturing the celebrations, achievements, smiles, and unforgettable moments of my friends and fellow students was truly special. Every photograph became a memory that I will cherish for years to come. The support from our faculty and the opportunities provided by the college helped me grow both personally and creatively. Serving as the President for the academic year 2024–25 gave me the opportunity to develop my leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. My involvement in NCC taught me discipline, responsibility, and confidence. My college experience has been really wonderful and memorable. The college has a good atmosphere, supportive lecturers, and a friendly environment where students can learn and grow. My experience with the Interior Design and Decoration course was really good. The lecturers were supportive, friendly, and explained the concepts clearly. I learned many useful things about design, creativity, and decoration. The best part was getting to learn and work with my friends, which made the course more enjoyable. Overall, it was a great learning experience and I’m happy to have chosen this course. The college fests and other activities were some of the best parts of my college life, giving us opportunities to participate, enjoy, and create unforgettable memories together. Overall, I’m really happy with my college experience and will always cherish the memories I made here.
