The Department of Hospitality Science, in association with the internal Quality Assurance Cell at Milagres College, organised a Chocolate Making Workshop for its students on 3rd March 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the Training Kitchen. The programme was conducted as part of the department’s commitment to experiential learning and industry–academia engagement.
The resource person for the session was Mr Joswin Braggs (Batch 2019–2022), an alumnus of the department and currently working as a Pastry Chef (CDP) at Comorin. He previously served as DCDP at The Oberoi Mumbai and completed his industrial training at Courtyard by Marriott Bengaluru and Hilton Bangalore Embassy GolfLinks.
The workshop focused on chocolate tempering techniques, moulding, preparation of filled chocolates, decorative elements, and professional finishing methods followed in fine dining establishments. Students actively participated and interacted with the resource person during the demonstration and Q&A session.
The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 70 students from the Department of Hospitality Science. It significantly enhanced students’ practical skills in confectionery production and provided valuable industry exposure. The alumni interaction also served as a source of motivation, demonstrating career progression in the hospitality sector. The workshop aligned with the institution’s quality initiatives by promoting skill development, experiential learning, and strengthening alumni and industry engagement.
