The Department of Food Nutrition and Dietetics, Milagres College, in collaboration with IQAC, organized an Earn While Learn initiative titled 'NUTRI CRAVINGS' on 25 February 2026 at 2:50 PM at the College Entrance. The programme was conducted to integrate academic learning with practical entrepreneurial exposure while promoting healthy and hygienic food choices within the campus.
II Year B.Sc. Food Nutrition and Dietetics students prepared and sold tri-colored steamed veg momo along with fresh mint lemon juice under structured planning and proper execution. The initiative provided practical exposure in food preparation, costing, budgeting, marketing, teamwork, and financial management in a real- time institutional setting.
The total expenditure incurred was ₹1,103 and the total amount collected was ₹2,320, resulting in a net profit of ₹1,217. As per the Earn While Learn distribution model, 30% of the profit (₹365) was allocated to the
College, 30% (₹365) to the Earn While Learn Fund, and 40% (₹487) was distributed among the 11 student participants. A total of 23 dine-in plates, 24 parcel orders, and 32 glasses of juice were sold during the
programme.
The programme was conducted under the overall supervision and guidance of Mrs. B. Prathibha Dsouza, Head of the Department, who supported planning, coordination, and financial documentation. Ms. S. Shaila Moras provided operational guidance and ensured quality control throughout the preparation and sales process, while Ms. Divyashree coordinated procurement, execution, and reporting of the programme.
