Hindi Diwas was organised by the department of languages and IQAC at Milagres College, Mangalore on September 23, 2026.
Dr. Namitha K, Lecturer, Departement of Hindi, Canara College, Mangalore was the chief guest. She in her address said “Hindi is a language which has wide job opportunities in fields like civil service, media and mass communication, translation, government offices etc. But very few enter into these fields.” She encouraged students to explore these opportunities.
Rev. Dr. Alwyn Serrao, Principal of the College, who presided over the function, said “Hindi is one among the top 5 languages spoken all over the world.” He also shed light on how the Indian Constitution came into existence and how Hindi became one of the official language of India.
Mrs. Sowmya Kotian, HOD Languages, Ms. Shravya N, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, and Ms. Nausheen Banu, lecturer, and other faculties were present on the occasion. Princel of II BSc FND welcomed the gathering and Mohammed Nizamuddin II BCOM compered the programme. Rohini Kini of II BCA/AI proposed the vote of thanks. Kusumanjali of I BBA Logistics spoke about the significance of Hindi Diwas.
