The Department of Interior Design of Milagres College, in collaboration with IQAC, organized a session on Professional Practices, Clients and Material Styles on 04 October 2025 in G001 Drafting Lab at 10:00 AM. The program aimed at The objective of this session is to help students understand professional practice, client interaction, and material style to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world design practice. The chief guest of the event was Ms Syma Banu , Architect and Interior designer.
The session on Professional Practice, Client, and Material Style is designed to give students a deeper understanding of the professional aspects of the design field. It focuses on building awareness of how designers work with clients, manage projects, and make creative decisions that balance aesthetics, function, and practicality. Through this talk, students will learn about professional ethics, presentation skills, and the importance of communication in establishing strong client relationships. The session also highlights the significance of material selection and style in shaping the overall design outcome, helping students connect classroom learning with real-world applications. Ultimately, it aims to prepare students for professional practice by enhancing their knowledge, confidence, and readiness to enter the design industry.
A total of 25 students actively participated in this session. Mr Royson Dsouza extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while Mr Royson Dsouza efficiently compered the event. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms Chaitra D, acknowledging the contributions of all involved.
