All the Milagres institutions, including CBSE, PUC, Nursing, and Degree College, celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on
2nd October 2025 at 8:30 AM in the Degree College Auditorium.
The program commenced with the Master of Ceremony conducted by Mrs. Mamatha, followed by a prayer led by
CBSE teachers. The welcome address was delivered by Mrs. Jyothi Ratna marking the formal beginning of the
celebration.
A special tribute to Mahatma Gandhi was presented through a soulful song performance by Ms. Shaila and her
team. Subsequently, all the dignitaries offered flowers to the photograph of Mahatma Gandhi as a mark of respect.
The celebration featured a speech by Mr. Denzil Pinto, who highlighted the core values of non-violence, simplicity,
ahimsa, and truthfulness, emphasizing the importance of following Gandhi’s principles in daily life. This was
followed by an inspiring message from the Principal Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao, who encouraged everyone to lead
their lives with the same integrity, discipline, and compassion as Mahatma Gandhi.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Preemal Riya Crasta. The event was attended by all
teaching and non-teaching staff along with two students, reflecting the collective respect and admiration of the
Milagres community for the Father of the Nation.
The Gandhi Jayanti celebration successfully reinforced the values of peace, non-violence, simplicity, and unity,
inspiring attendees to emulate Gandhi’s principles in their own lives.
