Milagres College, Hampankatta, Youth Red Cross (YRC), and National Service Scheme (NSS) organised a Blood Donation Camp in association with Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Kankanady, on 22 September 2026 at the Milagres College Auditorium. The programme began at 9:30 a.m. with a prayer led by NSS volunteers.
The President and Inaugurator of the Blood Donation Camp, Rev. Ivan Michael Rodrigues, Correspondent, Milagres Educational Institutions and President of the programme, addressed the gathering and appreciated the initiative and participation of the students. The Chief Guest, Dr. Charu Khosla, Assistant Professor, Immuno-Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Father Muller Medical College Hospital, spoke on the importance of voluntary blood donation and its role in saving lives. This was followed by an address by Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao, Principal and Campus Director, who highlighted the importance of service and social responsibility among students.
Mr. Joel Mascarenhas, NSS Programme Officer, and Ms. Sushmitha Shaila Moras, YRC Programme Officer, along with staff, volunteers, and students, were present.
A total of 146 students and staff registered for blood donation, of whom 101 units of blood were collected with the support of the medical team from Father Muller Medical College Hospital.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sushmitha Shaila Moras, YRC Programme Officer, and was compered by Mohammed Hashir Ashraf of II BCA AI. The food was served to all the registered donors. The camp successfully promoted the message of voluntary blood donation. The camp concluded at 2:00 p.m.
