The Department of Food Nutrition and Dietetics, Milagres College, in collaboration with IQAC, organized an
Earn While Learn initiative titled “NUTRITREATS” on 16 April 2026 from 12:10 PM to 1:00 PM at the
College Building Entrance. The programme was conducted to integrate academic learning with practical
entrepreneurial exposure while promoting healthy and hygienic food choices on the campus.
First-year B.Sc. Food Nutrition and Dietetics students prepared and sold fresh mango juice named “Mango
Magic” and Pani puri under structured planning and proper execution. Pani puri with freshly prepared mint and
coriander water along with spiced potato stuffing was sold, 6 puris for ₹30 per plate and Mango Magic for ₹20
a cup. The initiative provided practical exposure in food preparation, costing, budgeting, marketing, teamwork,
and financial management in a real-time institutional setting.
The initiative generated a total revenue of ₹2,900. The total expenditure incurred was ₹1,394, thereby resulting
in a net profit of ₹1,506. Under the Earn While Learn distribution model, the profit was distributed as follows:
30% (₹451) to the College, 30% (₹451) to the Earn While Learn Fund, and 40% (₹602) to the 16 student
participants.
The programme was conducted under the overall supervision and guidance of Mrs. B. Prathibha Dsouza, Head
of the Department, who facilitated planning and coordination. Ms. S. Shaila Moras provided operational
guidance, while Ms. Divyashree coordinated procurement, execution, and financial documentation.
