The Youth Red Cross Unit of Milagres College, in association with NCC, NSS, and Rovers and Rangers, organised an Awareness and Training Programme on “First Aid” for the students of Milagres College on 14 August 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the First Floor College Auditorium. The programme was organised with the following objectives:
1. To create awareness among students about the importance and principles of first aid in emergency situations.
2. To equip students with the basic knowledge and skills required to provide immediate assistance to a person in need.
3. To train students to respond appropriately to emergencies such as accidents, injuries, fainting, choking, breathing difficulties, and other critical situations.
4. To provide students with practical hands-on training in CPR and choking management.
5. To develop confidence, preparedness, and responsible decision-making skills among students while dealing with emergencies.
The programme featured Dr. Hilda Shanthini, Associate Professor, Department of Anaesthesiology, Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore, and Dr. Jesica Abraham, Senior Resident, Department of Anaesthesiology, Father Muller Medical College, as resource persons.
