Milagres College, Mangalore organized an Iftaar Celebration on 11th March 2026 at 6:00 PM to promote unity
and harmony among students and staff. The formal program was held in the First Floor Auditorium, followed
by the Iftaar gathering at the Rooftop Auditorium.
The program was presided over by Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth, Correspondent of Milagres Institutions. The
Chief Guest was Prof. Ismail. The event was also graced by Rev. Fr. Dr. Alwin Serrao, Principal of Milagres
College; Dr. Diana Lobo, Principal of Milagres Nursing Institution; Fr. Udaya Fernandes, Principal of Milagres
CBSE School; and Mr. Melwyn Vas, Principal of Milagres PU College.
The event was sponsored by Mr. Moh Azmal, Mr. Nauseef Hussain, and Mr. Nawaz Naringana. The program
was coordinated by Ms. Preemal Riya Crasta, Special Event Coordinator. Mr. Aakash Shetty, Iftaar Faculty
Coordinator, worked tirelessly for several days to organize and successfully conduct the event with the support of
the Student Coordinator, Mr. Moh Shabil.
The program began with a welcome address by Ms. Shravya N and was hosted by Ms. Nawshin as the Master of
Ceremonies. The Chief Guest, Prof. Ismail, spoke about the spiritual significance of Ramadan and the
importance of compassion and unity. Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth, in his presidential address, emphasized
that Milagres Institutions celebrate all festivals equally to promote harmony and inclusiveness. He highlighted that
such celebrations reflect the spirit of equality, unity, and mutual respect that the institution strives to nurture
among students. Sponsor Mr. Moh Azmal spoke about remembering our roots, while Mr. Naringana explained
the meaning and values of the holy month of Ramadan.
More than 500 students participated in the celebration. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr.
Hisham, after which everyone gathered at the Rooftop Auditorium to break the fast and enjoy fruits, juice, water,
and biriyani together.
The celebration was a meaningful event that strengthened unity, respect, and cultural understanding among the
students and staff of Milagres College.
