The Hospitality Association, in collaboration with the Department of Hospitality Management and the Internal
Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a Mocktail and Cocktail Making Competition on 24th February
2026 at Milagres College, Hampankatta, as part of the World Bartenders’ Day programme. The competition was conducted at 3:00 p.m., with enthusiastic participation from students of the Department of
Hospitality Management. Participants demonstrated their skills in beverage preparation, creativity, presentation, hygiene, and time management. The competition was judged by industry experts Mr. Akash Kottary, Assistant Bar Manager, Soma, London, and Mr. Yathish Kumar Vasanth, Head Bartender, The Racketeer. The judging criteria included originality, taste, balance of flavours, presentation, and overall professionalism. Participants impressed the judges with their
innovative ideas, teamwork, and confidence. The competition concluded with feedback from the judges, who appreciated the students’ efforts and encouraged
them to continue refining their skills. Overall, the Mocktail and Cocktail Making Competition was highly
engaging and served as an excellent experiential learning activity, enhancing students’ industry readiness.
