An Onam celebration was organized in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Student Council on 12 September 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the College Ground. The programme was compered by Ms. Thafsiya.

The celebration began with the distribution of Payasam to the students, symbolizing the spirit of togetherness, joy, and celebration. This was followed by the formal trophy launch of the Milagres Premier League (MPL).

The grand entry of Maveli was then conducted, with students carrying traditional lamps and the Chenda creating a festive and traditional atmosphere. The significance of Onam was explained by Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao, highlighting the cultural values, traditions, unity, and importance of the festival.

The programme continued with Thiruvathira, a traditional dance form of Kerala, which added color and cultural richness to the celebration. The graceful performance showcased the rich cultural heritage of Kerala and enhanced the festive spirit of the occasion.

Following the Thiruvathira performance, a department-wise dance competition was conducted, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, talent, and enthusiasm. Students from different departments participated actively in the competition, making it an entertaining and lively part of the celebration. The performances reflected teamwork, coordination, and the festive spirit of Onam.

The celebration was further enlivened with a Tug of War competition, in which students from all departments participated with great enthusiasm. The event witnessed energetic participation, team spirit, healthy competition, and loud cheers from the students and staff. The various activities brought together students from different streams and courses, promoting unity, friendship, and a strong sense of belonging among the college community.

Approximately 800 students from all streams and courses, along with the faculty members of Milagres College, actively participated in the celebration. The programme concluded on a vibrant note with an energetic Chende Melam performance, adding to the festive atmosphere and creating a joyful and memorable experience for everyone present. Overall, the celebration reflected the rich cultural traditions of Kerala and fostered a spirit of togetherness, participation, and joy among the students and staff.
