The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotism and enthusiasm on 26th January 2026 at the Milagres
Campus. The program commenced at 8:30 a.m. in the presence of distinguished dignitaries, staff, and students.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mrs. Jyothi Cutinha, Vice Principal of Milagres College of Nursing. The
program was presided over by Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao, Principal and Campus Director of Milagres College. The
event was also graced by Fr. Udaya Fernandes, Principal of Milagres Central School; Dr. Diana Lobo, Principal of
Milagres College of Nursing; and Mrs. Jenitha, Principal of Milagres PU College.
The celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, followed by the Flag Salute. The
gathering stood in reverence for the National Anthem and Vande Mataram, beautifully sung by the students of
Milagres Central School, filling the atmosphere with patriotic fervor.
Mrs. Jacintha Crasta from Milagres Central School delivered the Welcome Speech, warmly greeting the
dignitaries and attendees. This was followed by a speech on the Significance of the Day by Ms. Chaitra from
Milagres Degree College, who highlighted the importance of the Constitution and the responsibilities of citizens in
upholding democratic values.
The Chief Guest, Mrs. Jyothi Cutinha, addressed the gathering and emphasized the role of youth in nation-building
and the importance of unity, discipline, and dedication in strengthening the country. Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao
delivered the Presidential Message, inspiring everyone to uphold the ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and
fraternity enshrined in the Constitution.
The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, organizers, staff, and
students who contributed to the success of the celebration.
The Republic Day celebration was a grand success, reminding everyone of their duties as responsible citizens and
