Milagres college organized International Womens Day Celebration on 09 March 2026 in the the college auditorium. The objective of the programme was to honor womens achievements and contributions while
creating awareness among students and faculty about gender equality, womens rights, and empowerment.
The International Womens Day celebration was organized by the Women Empowerment & Gender Equity Cell in association with the Konkani Association and IQAC. The program began with a warm welcome to
the gathering, followed by an insightful session by the resource person, Dr. Jyotsna Coelho. She delivered an informative talk on menstrual hygiene, emphasizing its importance for women's health and well-being.
The session also covered awareness on cancer screening, highlighting the significance of early detection, along with a detailed explanation of common symptoms that should not be ignored. The speaker encouraged students and faculty to adopt healthy practices and seek timely medical advice. The program concluded on a lively note with a few spot quick games, which actively engaged the participants and
added an element of fun and interaction, making the event both educational and enjoyable.
A total of 180 students actively participated in this celebration. Ms Shaheema III BCAAIML extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while Ms Shaheema efficiently compered the event. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms Harsha, acknowledging the contributions of all involved.
