Milagres Educational Institutions in Association with IQAC celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5 September 2026 at 11:45 a.m. in the Degree Auditorium with great enthusiasm and reverence for the teaching fraternity.
The programme commenced with a prayer led by the Milagres PUC Staff, invoking God’s blessings. Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao, Principal, Milagres College, delivered the welcome address and warmly welcomed the gathering.
The Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Parish Priest, Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail, delivered an inspiring message on the significance and nobility of the teaching profession. Quoting a Sanskrit shloka, he highlighted the respected position of teachers and their responsibility in shaping individuals and society. He emphasized that teaching goes beyond academics and involves guiding students morally and socially. He stressed that teaching is a noble mission whose value cannot be measured in monetary terms. Through anecdotes and real-life experiences, he highlighted the dedication and lasting impact of teachers.
The presidential address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Ivan Michael Rodrigues, Correspondent, who appreciated the commitment of the faculty and emphasized their role in shaping students’ futures. He assured them of the institution’s continued support and affirmed that all faculty members are valued as part of the Milagres family.
Games and recreational activities were conducted by Mr. Joel Mascarenhas, fostering fellowship and enjoyment among the staff. Rev. Fr. Uday Fernandes, Principal, Milagres Central School, proposed the vote of thanks, while Ms. Alicia Simoni Fronteiro, Milagres Nursing College, served as Master of Ceremonies.
