Milagres Educational Institution was founded by Bishop Rt Rev. Bernardin in 1848. In the beginning, it was started as a English Primary School with classes I to V and higher classes were added gradually. The Higher Secondary school was started on July 23, 1929. The Government of Karnataka upgraded the High School into Pre-University College on July 5, 1982.
With the aim of imparting higher education, the Management initiated and incepted Milagres College in 2010 run by the Catholic Board of Education of the Diocese of Mangaluru and locally managed by Milagres Church. The college, a Christian minority institution, is affiliated to Mangalore University and recognized by UGC MHRD, Govt of India under Section 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956. Presently the college offers programmes in Commerce – B.Com (from 2010 on), Science – B.Sc. in Hospitality Science (from 2016 on), B.Sc in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics and B.Sc. in Computer Science, (from 2022 on) BBA (Bachelor of Business Admistration in Logistic), BCA (BACHELOR OF COMPUTER APPLICATION) and BCA AIML (BACHELOR OF COMPUTER APPLICATION IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING).

In the pursuit of knowledge, the right learning environment can truly impact a student’s performance and his all-round development in a positive and meaningful way. From the academic year 2016-17, our newly constructed Degree College building, which is artistically designed with all the ‘Hi-Tech’ modern amenities, evolving the state of the art infrastructure, aims to provide a soothing, conducive and pleasing environment for learning. Milagres Educational Institutions today imparts education from Kindergarten (KG) to Under Graduation (UG) with a student strength over 2,500 and faculty of 130. Foreseeing the need of the medical service the management has ventured into Nursing College with B.Sc. Nursing in 2024-25.

She is none other than our Patroness, Our Lady of Miracles under whose patronage Milagres Educational Institutions function from 1848.

This Institution is dedicated to Mother Mary which is guided, blessed abundantly and ever protected by her for many years, and will continue to live longer under her choicest blessings and care.
Following the footsteps of our Patroness, Our Lady of Miracles, whenever in trial or difficulty we recourse to Mother Mary, whose glance alone is enough to dissipate every fear. Seeking with humility and reverence let our Patroness guide us, bless us, protect us, lead us all to be good children of God, fulfill the educational needs of the knowledge seekers of our Institution and make them a better human beings and above all God fearing citizens.

The College has a full-fledged spacious library with a stack of more than 7700 books and a reading room with E-Library and INFLIBNET facility.
The well equipped laboratories of the departments of Hospitality Science and Food, Nutrition and Dietetics serve as effective incubation centres of the College.
The College provides boarding and lodging facilities for the students from distant locations and for those who need accommodation in the College hostels.
The College pays special attention to the mental and spiritual wellbeing of our students. A full-time qualified counsellor is on roll to look after the mental and psychological health of the students.
Parent Teacher Association is a great source of strength to the College in improving the quality of discipline and students’ development.
