Admission Process
Eligibility
- A candidate who has passed II PUC Examination or any other examination recognised by
Mangalore University as equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to B.Com / B.Sc. (HS) Degree Courses.
- A candidate who has passed II PUC/+2/XII STD Examination or any other examination recognised by the Education Department as equivalent, with science stream are eligible for admission to B.Sc. FND.
- Candidates from outside the State of Karnataka shall produce migration and eligibility certificates at the time of admission.
Admission Procedure
- Application forms for admission obtained from the college office should be filled in with all particulars in the applicant’s own handwriting.
- All particulars called for in the application form must be filled without any omission.
- Every student whose application form is registered in the college office within the deadline will receive an intimation by phone or letter, either expressing regret or inviting the candidate for an interview.
- Every candidate seeking admission must be introduced in person by the parents who will be responsible to the Principal for their studies, conduct and stay.
- No Candidate shall be admitted except on application in the prescibed form signed by the parent /guardian. Actual admission will be made by the Principal after a personal interview.
- A list of candidates provisionally selected for the interview will be displayed in the College Notice Board. Applicants are requested to refer the Notice Board.
- A candidate while appearing for the interview shall produce the following original records:
- Original Transfer certificate from the institution last attended.
- SSLC / PUC / CBSE /+2 Marks Card / Original or Provisional Marks Card.
- Conduct Certificate from the institution last attended.
- Caste Certificate for SC/ST/Category -1/ OBC or any other.
- Income certificate. (If candidate wishes to apply for Govt/Management Scholarships)
- Copy of Aadhar Card
- Six recent passport size photographs / one parent’s photo.
- Migration and eligibility certificate. (In the case of students coming from outside the state of
Karnataka).
- Students who do not appear for the interview on the specified date and time, will not be considered for admission.
- Students who are finally selected should pay full fees immediately after the interview. Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstance. The selected students who do not pay fees in time or after paying the fees do not attend classes for five consecutive days, will forfeit their seats and the fees paid.
- Students who are found to have obtained admission through false representation will be summarily dismissed with forfeiture of all fees.
- Allotment of seat is on merit of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and according to the reservation system.
- The medium of Instruction & Examination is only in English.
- Admission to any course is made for one academic year only. Students will be admitted to the next higher class on the basis of re-admission. Progress in studies, regularity of attendance, conduct and behaviour of the students in the previous year will be taken note of during re-admission. Re-admission rests solely on the management direction.
- If admitted, the students shall strictly follow the rules and regulations of the institution as prescribed in the college calendar and as imposed by the college authorities from time to time.
- All admissions to the college are provisional and subject to the approval of Mangalore University.
A Special Note to Parents
Parents and Guardians are requested to co-operate with the Management and members of the staff and look upon the education of the students as a joint endeavour. Parents are requested to appraise themselves about the daily studies of the students at home and monitor their attendance in the college.
Parents are alerted to take note of the fact that the students will not be permitted to appear for the semester examination in the following cases:
- Students who are not regular in attending classes. and whose attendence is less than 75% in each subject.
- Students who miss answering tests and internal assessments.
- Students who show lack of co-operation in disciplinary rules laid down by the college.
- Students whose parents have failed to assume their responsibilities which are made known to them by the college.
- Students who fail to pay their fees
Note: Parents will go through this information book and get it at the time of interview, if the student receives intimation call / letter.
Rules and Code of Conduct for Students in brief. (Detailed rules and regulations will be given in the college calendar)
Students are required to observe the rules and discipline of the College. They are bound to abide by the regulations which the Management may frame from time to time. The following do’s and don’ts are mandatory on students.
- The lecture sessions are from 9.00 a.m. to 12.10 p.m. and from 12.50 p.m. to 4.20 p.m. Timetable details will be notified in time.
- Friday lunch timing is restricted to only 1 hour.
- The students are expected to be on time for classes. Late-comers will be marked absent. If there is a valid reason for being late, the student should obtain permission from the Principal to attend the class.
- Playing, shouting and whistling inside the college building is not allowed. Students are not permitted to enter any other classroom other than their own without permission.
- Punctual and regular attendance is insisted upon. 75% attendance is a must to appear for semester exams.
- When students are compelled to be absent from the college for some unforeseen reason like illness, they must submit their leave note/ medical certificate to the Principal / Class teacher duly signed by their parents. If a student is absent for more than a week without prior permission or information, it will be construed that he has discontinued his studies and his name will be struck off the register. In order to claim your certificate, you have to pay the full fees.
- Absense without leave specially in with respect to tests and examination and at the time of reopening of classes after the holidays shall be viewed seriously. In case of illness a medical certificate should be produced.
- Irregular attendance, insubordination to lecturers, habitual neglect of college work, damage to the college property and obscenity in word or act are sufficient reasons for temporary suspension or permanent dismissal of a student.
- The college does not hold itself responsible for the student's conduct outside its premises unless such a conduct arises out of his college life.
- Use of cell phones inside the college building is forbidden. Cell Phones should be kept only in the locker provided, by paying a nominal annual rent. If it is found that a student possesses/ uses cell phone, it will be confiscated and a heavy fine will be charged.Parents are advised not to interfere when cell phone is confiscated.
- The prescribed college uniform should be worn every day by the students.
- Students must wear ID as they enter the campus and continue to wear it till they stay in the college.
- It is good etiquette that the students respect the members of the staff and greet on meeting them.
- Books, magazines, newspapers and articles not approved by the Principal shall not be brought to the college by the students.
- Use of tobacco in the College premises in any form is forbidden. Explosives, throwing colours and bursting crackers are not allowed inside the College campus. No student shall attend the college classes having taken alcohol or drugs. Severe action will be taken on the defaulters.
- With a view to improve language fluency, students are expected to speak in English within the college premises.
- Students must take care of the college property. Damages, if any, will be made good by deducting the caution deposit. In case of major damages, the student will be held responsible to make good. Writing or scratching on the desk is forbidden and the defaluters will be fined.
- Attendance at Value Education Classes, CC Classes and Add-on Courses is compulsory. Attendance at any examination is compulsory to all students. In case of emergency, parents should come to the College and inform the Principal in writing. Mass bunking from class will be taken seriously.
- Students must not join any club or society or make any engagement outside the college that would interfere with their studies without the permission of the Principal. They are not allowed to play in any team against the college.
- Students are not allowed to take part in political agitation or any activity directed against the authority or the lawful Government.
- In the morning all must stand and pray devoutly during the prayer time. They shall stand respectfully for the National Anthem whenever it is sung.
- Students should adhere and be committed to maintain high standard of discipline of the college. They should follow the timings signalled by the bell scrupulously, particularly the bell rung after the recess, both in the forenoon and the afternoon. They should not leave the college premises during these intervals.
- Transfer Certificate will not be issued under any circumstances unless all the dues of the college are paid.
