On the auspicious occasion of Teacher's Day, our college hosted a vibrant and memorable celebration on the 5th of September, 2023 organised by the student council. The event commenced with an intriguing and unique entrance by the teachers. They donned sunglasses and walked together in a grand procession towards the stage, setting a lively tone for the day. The formal program began with a soulful prayer song, followed by a warm welcome speech that emphasized the significance of the day. As a symbol of respect and admiration, a flower offering was made to a portrait of Dr Radhakrishnan, whose birthday we celebrate as Teacher's Day. The highlight of the celebration was the cake-cutting ceremony, graced by our esteemed guest of honour, Dr Carmelita Goveas. Dr Goveas shared inspiring words about the role of teachers in shaping our lives and how we should treat them with utmost respect and gratitude. She also shared a meaningful story from the Mahabharata, highlighting the importance of wisdom and guidance. Our principal also expressed heartfelt sentiments about Teacher's Day and the invaluable contributions of our educators. Following this, class representatives were called upon to present greeting cards to their respective class coordinators, expressing their gratitude and appreciation. The formal program concluded with a vote of thanks, extending appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the event. Afterward, the teachers joined the audience, and the atmosphere shifted to fun followed by lively dance and melodious song performance, and a hilarious balloon-sitting challenge. A particularly memorable moment was when the male teachers, with great enthusiasm, donned sarees and were groomed by the students, culminating in a ramp walk with male students that left everyone in stitches. Adding to the fun, teachers took on the challenge of singing with a lemon in their mouth, even the principal joined in, creating moments of pure hilarity. To cool off, all students were treated to ice cream. The celebration reached its climax with an exhilarating throwball match between the teachers and students. In conclusion, the Teacher's Day celebration of 2023 was a perfect blend of honouring our educators and fostering a sense of togetherness and joy within our college community. It was a day filled with laughter, gratitude, and unforgettable memories that will resonate with everyone present for years to come.
