Milagres Degree College organized Deepavali Festival celebration on November 15, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm, with approximately 400 students in attendance. The purpose of this celebration was to promote an inclusive environment fostering tolerance and harmony towards cultural diversities. Dignitaries present at the event included Mrs. Chethana Acharya, IQAC Coordinator, Mr. Denzil Edrod Pinto, Student Welfare Officer, Ms. Shaila Moras, Special Event Coordinator, and Mr. Denson Dsilva, College President. The celebration commenced with a prayer song performed by Avaneesh G Shetty III FND. Mr. Denson Dsilva extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Diyas were lit by dignitaries and staff members, symbolizing the spread of goodness and the message of Deepavali. Ms. Naomi, College Vice President, delivered a speech highlighting the significance of the day. Mr. Denzil Edrod Pinto, Student Welfare Officer, also addressed the gathering. Ms. Akanksha III FND and Ms. Deeksha III FND showcased the beauty of Deepavali tradition through their dance performance. The program was skilfully hosted by Ms. Fevita Lobo III FND. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Venisha III BHS. The joy of Deepavali was further enhanced by the joyful act of cracking crackers and distributing sweets to the students. The event successfully achieved its goal of spreading cultural awareness and fostering unity among the students.
