The Women’s Cell celebrated National Girl Child Day on January 24, 2024. An online quiz was conducted on this topic at 5pm using the Google form. 10 students took part in this quiz competition. The National Girl Child Day is celebrated every year on this day to commemorate the inaugural anniversary of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Scheme (Save the girl child, Educate the girl child) on January 24, 2015. This day was first initiated in 2008 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The main objective behind this is to highlight the inequalities faced by girls and to promote awareness including the rights of a girl child, and the importance of education, health and nutrition.
