Milagres College, Hampankatta, Mangaluru, inaugurated the National Service Scheme (NSS) for the academic year 2024-25 with a formal ceremony by lighting of lamp on 27th September, 2024 at 3:30 PM in the college auditorium. The event was organized in collaboration with the college's Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). Mr. Alwin D'Souza, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at St. Aloysius Deemed to be University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, Mr. Alwin D'Souza emphasized the importance of community service and encouraged students to actively participate in NSS activities to develop leadership skills and social responsibility. Ms. Anusha presented the report of the previous year. The event was presided over by Rev. Dr.Fr Michael L. Santhumayor, Principal of Milagres College, who, in his presidential address, highlighted the significance of discipline and social concerns among the volunteers. Mr. Joel Mascarenhas, NSS Program Officer, Ms. Shravya, Assistant NSS Officer, and NSS unit secretaries, Ms. Anusha (II FND) and Ms. Tenzil (II B.Com), were present on the dais. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the national anthem. Mr. Abdul Khifa from II B.Com compeered the program, Mr. Razee welcomed the gathering, and Mr. Joslin Valder proposed the vote of thanks.
