INTERNATIONAL DEMOCRACY DAY
The NSS unit of Milagres College, Mangalore
celebrated International Democracy day on September 13, 2024,within the college
Premises. International Democracy Day is observed annually on September 15 and
was established by the United Nations to promote and uphold democratic
principles and values. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of
democracy in ensuring human rights, fostering peace, and encouraging
sustainable development. Mr.
Tenzil Dsouza, Nss Unit leader explained the significance of the day,
emphasizing democratic values, such as
freedom of expression and the rule of law, urging citizens to actively
participate in the political process. Additionally, Ms Josline Crasta
administered the Oath ceremony. The event saw the participation of 84 NSS volunteers, 156 students, NSS Programme officer,
Principal and staff members attended the program.
