The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell of Milagres College,Mangalore, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an awareness seminar titled “Intellectual Property Rights Awareness” on October 18, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the college auditorium. The session featured Advocate Sushmitha as the resource person, who provided valuable insights into various forms of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Her talk highlighted the importance of protecting creative work and encouraged students to consider how IPR impacts bothindustries and individual projects. The seminar concluded with an interactive Q and A session, where students posed questions about IPR-related issues they may face in future endeavours. Ms. Janice Menezes of I BCom B introduced the speaker, and Ms. Rohitha Melita Crasta, the IPR cell coordinator, was also present. The event successfully enriched participants understanding of intellectual property rights, underlining its significance across academia andbusiness. A total of 103 students were present for the seminar.
