As part of a quality enhancement initiative by the IQAC, the Library Association organized a Student Capacity Building Programme on the topic “The Role of Library in Education” on October 9, 2024, from 11:45 AM to 12:15 PM for first-year students. The main objective of the session was to develop and improve reading habits among students. The resource person for the session was Ms. Mahima Ruhi, an alumna of Milagres College, Mangalore. In her address, she emphasized the vital role of the library in a student’s academic life. She encouraged students to actively make use of the library and its resources, highlighting that reading physical books engages multiple senses and enhances memory retention more effectively than reading online content. The session began with a warm welcome and introduction of the resource person by IQAC Coordinator, Ms. Chethana. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Librarian, Mrs. Pramila Dsouza.
